New showroom for video and sound art in Trondheim

On Friday 2 October at 19.00, Trondheim’s new showroom for video and sound art opened  at Trøndelag Center for Contemporary Art (TSSK), Fjordgata 11.
The Black Cube is both a physical exhibition space and a production label that will present projects also outside the gallery itself. The showroom was formerly used as a storage facility housing the Art Center’s archive, which contained material going back to the Center’s founding in 1976. This archive has now been moved to the Regional State Archives at Dora

where it is accessible for research. After the handover and a bit of a brush-up, the newly vacated 20 square metres are devoted to video and sound art.
The new “black cube” is a flexible and experimental addition to the Art Center’s facilities. It presents projects both independently of and in parallel with other exhibition events in TSSK’s ground-floor gallery space.
The Black Cube is open :  Wed-Sun 12-4 PM and during exhibitions in the main gallery.

The Black Cube has been made possible by financial support from Arts Council Norway, Trondheim City Council, Torstein Erbos Gavefond
and the Relief Fund for Visual Artists.
